Stayed at the cottage over new year and fell in love with the place as soon as we arrived. When i looked to book i thought it was too good to be true but when i arrived i reqlised how wonderful the cottage truely is. Everything was perfect and I woudlnt change a thing about it. Thankyou for such a lovely few day’s in your cottage.
What a beautiful, clean and well kept cottage. So cozy and warm and beautiful surroundings. Did not need to ask for anything as we had no complaints at all. The views were breathtaking. Just myself, husband and the spoilt dog Betsy on this trip. Had so many walks into the forest. If your looking for a super clean relaxing break then I would highly recommend Nuthatch Cottage, for us it was simply perfect and the local residents were so friendly. Well done Tim on an amazing cottage that you have restored to perfection. Would definately come back to see you next year!!!!!
Although we are nature lovers we do not have pets, and so we were a little aprehensive about the fact that they were welcomed here with previous guests. No worries here though, the place was spotlessly clean and had all the ameneties you would need for a comfortable stay. The cottage has recently been modernised to a very high standard. It has nice exposed oak features and the kitchen and bathroom are modern and well equipped. Probably the best aspect was the views of Flaxley valley and the abundant birds and wildlife. Owners, Tim and Vicky, were pleasant and unobtrusive, but always there if you needed them. Altogether it was a very pleasant experience.
Beautifully restored cottage; immaculately clean and tastefully furnished with really comfortable beds and everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Excellent outdoor space making the most of the views, wildlife, farm animals, birds and sun! Very convenient for local amenities, attractions and places to eat. We enjoyed a very relaxing few days and would definitely return. Thank you for an awesome stay.
This was my 2nd stay here, that for me in itself is a 1st!. Why, it’s in a stunning location, so peaceful, wake to birds & beautiful countryside. If you don’t want to venture far, there are walks on doorstep. The cottage is excellent, bed is so comfortable, wood burner is an added bonus & furnishings done to a very high standard, with all you will need. Vicki & Tim are so very helpful should you need anything. Will definitely return.
We made Nuthatch Cottage the center of our holiday or 2 weeks and a bit. It is such a gorgeous place, perfectly renovated with a great appreciation for detail. All rooms are setup very tastefully and functionally at the same time. We much enjoyed the open fire which we lit almost every evening particularly as constant supply of firewood was provided for a small charge. The beds were perfect for all four of us too.
Nuthatch Cottage has clearly lovingly been restored and maintained by the owners. Nothing has been skimped on and still the feel is so very comfortable. It has everything you may need. Beautiful location with amazing views across the valley. We were visited by so many varied birds. Lots to do within a short drive to different areas of the Forest of Dean.
Fantastic 4 days in Nuthatch cottage. Lovely quiet property surrounded by beautiful countryside in the Forest of Dean. Felt very private and secluded, yet Tim & Vicki were responsive to questions and available if necessary, living close by. In the days we watched the birds and horses, in the evening the bats and listened to the owls and even heard deer barking in the forest on the other side of the valley. One morning we were treated to a fox and cub walking across the field next to us! Just perfect.
Nuthatch cottage is an outstanding place to spend your holiday! The cottage has everything you need, the views and surroundings are fantastic and there is so much wildlife. We saw squirrels, foxes, a little deer and so much birds, just from the comfort of the cottage garden. Tim and Vicky are very helpfull and did such a good job with the cottage! In the 25+ years we are travelling England, this was one of the best cottages we rented. The cats Magnus and Nemo visited us in the garden on a daily basis and are a bonus! Jasper is a good old dog and always loves a hug! We make sure we come back to Nuthatch cottage very soon!
We had a wonderful stay at Nuthatch in April. The cottage was immaculate and very cosy. We had a lovely welcome from Tim, who was very helpful throughout our stay. The view from the cottage is absolute specular into the valley. Lots of great things to do near by, especially the Forestry Commission sites. We would love to stay again.
Just returned from a lovely relaxing three day break at Nuthatch Cottage.
The cottage is just perfect. It is beautifully furnished, very clean and contains all the equipment you could need. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The views across the Flaxley Valley are beautiful but unfortunately, due to the bad weather, we didn’t venture out too much. But that didn’t matter at all as we were happy to stay in and enjoy the cottage. A big plus for us was that we were able to take our dog with us and allow him to safely wonder out into the garden surrounding the cottage. The garden is securely fenced so there is no chance of him escaping.
All in all, a perfect self catering cottage in a quiet location.
